
Artist Statement
1. Spotty Night- My inspiration for this piece was Halloween, I love the pumpkins that we use as a decoration for that Holiday.
My process for this piece for my 4 sketches first and then I outlined my piece and then i began to go over the lines with my pen and ink.
2.Big Red- My inspiration for this piece was the uniqueness and original form of apples, and they have a very vibrant red color to them.
My process for this piece was the sketches and then outlining the piece on my final and the doing many layers of my oil pastel.
3. Montice- My inspiration​ for this piece was my old brother. My older brother is really my protector and my best friend.
My process for this piece was too find a great quality of my brother and outline each aspect and detail of his face and hair, then outline it on my final and shade the portrait.
4. Pretty Pinkie- My inspiration for this piece is my love for the color pink and the beauty of flowers, they are such a great object to paint. Always unique.
The process for this piece was finding the flower I wanted to paint, doing my 4 sketches and then outlining and doing many layers of acrylic paint.
5.Unity- My inspiration for this piece was the stereotypes the world tends to use against the caucasion and african american races. The typical view of the whites is money,very wealthy. Then the typical stereotype for the blacks are violence and guns.
6. Hardened Floor- My inspiration for this piece was the beauty of the details of a wood floors and how unique each piece is.
The process for this was doing my 4 sketches and then finding out how to do good wood detail.
7. Horizon Line- My inspiration for this piece was the beauty of a sun setting sky and the beauty of the woods and nature.
The process was my 4 sketches and then working on my water color skills but also multiple layers on my final.
8.Brothers Keeper- My inspiration for this piece is that one of my brothers (Hallow) recently passed away on September, 29th. Then in 2016 my oldest brother Montice was sentenced 25 years in jail. I just wanted to do something for all my older brothers showing I love them.
The process for this piece was figuring out how to draw chains and also drawing jail bars and then figuring out where to place everything without too much negative space.
9.Awareness- My inspiration for this piece was that hundreds of kids everyday tell everybody that they're okay but deep inside their hurting really bad and it seems as if nobody cares or notices.
